Bachelor of Digital Media

The Faculty of Applied Media offers a Bachelor degree program that is competency-driven, practice-based, and develops interdisciplinary applied skills through an apprenticeship program.

To enable students to succeed, we provide an industry aligned program of practical and theoretical skills in communication, digital media and content design.

Program Description

The Bachelor of Digital Media program prepares students to become proficient communication specialists in fields such as strategic and corporate communication, social media, advertising, digital and content media creation by enhancing their writing, verbal, and digital communication abilities. By developing this expertise, students will be able to critically analyze digital media challenges and develop solutions that are tailored to diverse audiences and contexts. Through client briefs, and work integrated learning including an apprenticeship program, students will gain insights into the crucial role of digital media in content and brand development, shaping social cultures, and developing effective targeted communication and social media strategies.

 

Program Goals

  1. Develop in students a comprehensive knowledge of digital media tools, technologies, and techniques, emphasizing their application in professional settings and creation of content of a high aesthetic quality.
  2. Foster strong communication skills, enabling students to articulate ideas clearly, write effectively, apply communication theories strategically, and utilize social media platforms efficiently.
  3. Promote a professional attitude and practice emphasizing ethical leadership, social responsibility, and effective teamwork within diverse settings.
  4. Prepare students to think analytically, critically, strategically, and independently, in addition to developing entrepreneurial skills to excel in the global digital media marketplace.
  5. Equip students with a commitment to lifelong learning, continuing education, and professional growth.

On successful completion of this program the graduate will be able to:
