Admission to HCT is open to all types of students, including students applying directly after completing high school in the current year (current students), students returning to continue their studies after completing National Service, previous high school graduates (non-current students), and transfer students from other universities.
Current Secondary School Students
Secondary school students graduating in the current academic year from government and private schools must submit their admission applications through the MoHESR website.
National Service Students
Students who joined National Service directly after completing their secondary education and have completed their service must submit their admission applications through the MoHESR website.
Previous High School Graduates (Non-current Students)
Applicants who completed high school in previous years are required to submit their admission applications through the MoHESR website.
Outstanding students from previous years who are not older than 35 at the time of application may be considered for admission after passing HCT admission tests, in accordance with the admission criteria and available capacity.
Transfer Applicants
UAE national students and sons/daughters of UAE national mothers may transfer to HCT from UAEU or Zayed University during the first and second semesters of the academic year, subject to the number of seats allocated for this category in the admissions policy and the fulfilment of the following conditions:
- The student must be in good academic standing.
- The student must not have received any academic warning or academic penalty, such as academic dismissal.
- The student must have completed only the first semester since joining the educational institution and must submit the transfer application without any interruption in study.
- Admission to HCT is competitive and subject to the capacity of academic programs.
Students wishing to transfer from other higher education institutions will have their applications reviewed under the category of previous secondary school graduates.
Transfer applicants are required to apply online and attach an official copy of their academic transcript, along with course descriptions for the courses they have previously completed at the government or private educational institution.

Documents Required for Application
All applicants must complete the required information in the admission application form available on the MoHESR website and attach the required documents according to their applicant category.
UAE National Current Students
UAE national students graduating from secondary school in the current academic year are not required to upload a copy of their passport or Emirates ID, as their personal data will be imported automatically through the electronic integration system with UAE Pass via the MoHESR website.
Personal Documents Required from Sons/Daughters of UAE National Mothers
Sons/daughters of UAE national mothers may apply through the MoHESR website and upload all required documents as specified in the application system.
Personal Documents Required from Non-UAE National Students
- A recent, high-resolution colour passport photo.
- A clear copy of a valid passport, including the residency page.
- A clear copy of a valid Emirates ID (front and back).
Academic Documents Required from All Applicants
- Final grade reports for Grades 10, 11, and 12.
- An equivalency certificate issued by the Ministry of Education is required for all students who completed their secondary education in non-UAE governmental systems, such as the American or British curriculum.
- Students following the British curriculum must submit an official statement of results and official grade reports issued by the examination board, not by the school.
