Admission to HCT is open to all types of students including Students applying directly after completing High School in the current year (Current Students) , Students returning to continue their studies after completing National Service. Old graduates of High Schools (Non-Current students) and Transfer students from other universities.
Students Applying from High School
Current-year secondary school students in government and private schools must submit their applications on MoE-NAPO website.
National Service Students
Students who joined National Service directly after completion of their secondary education and complete their service, may submit their application for admissions consideration on Ministry of Education website Ministry of Education website
Old Graduates of Highs Schools (Non-current students)
Applicants who completed high school in previous years are required to apply online from here.
HCT shall consider admitting P2 outstanding students, holding high school certificates which are not older than 3 years at time of submitting an application to HCT, according to the following competitive standards:
- Applicant must have achieved a highly competitive cumulative average, in their general secondary education, of not less than 85% or equivalent.
- Applicant student must present a valid EmSAT English exam with minimum score of 1100 or equivalent.
- Applicant must achieve high scores in other required EmSAT exams in accordance with the admission criteria for various respective disciplines.
- HCT shall consider special cases, whereby students graduated successfully over previous years and are among students of the second and third priority admission categories, whose medical or social conditions prevented them from pursuing further education.
Transfer Applicants
Transfer students are required to apply online from here, making sure to upload a copy of official transcripts, with course descriptions, from the previous government or private institution.
National students and sons/daughters of national mothers may transfer from UAEU or Zayed University to HCT during the fall and spring semesters, depending on the number of seats allocated for this category in the admissions policy, and in accordance with the following conditions:
- Student must be of good academic standing.
- Student must not have received any academic warnings or penalty (academic dismissal).
- Student must have completed all the Foundations Courses and joined the academic program of choice prior to transfer Or completed all levels of the English language and obtained EmSAT-English >= 1100 or equivalent.
- Student will be considered among P1 category if the period of interruption of studies in UAEU or Zayed University does not exceed one semester only.
For transfer students from other higher education institutions and ZU/UAEU students who are inactive for more than one academic year, their applications will be reviewed and they will be categorized as P2 or P3 students, depending on the year of high school graduation. Their acceptance will be dependent on the capacity of HCT and preferential criteria for this category in the admissions policy.

Documents Required for Application
All applicants must complete the required data on the application form on MoE-NAPO website. The application must be accompanied by the following documents:
Personal documents required from UAE national students
- A recent color, high resolution passport photo
- A clear copy of a valid passport, showing the unified number an Edbarah number page.
- A clear copy of a valid Emirates ID (front and back)
- A copy of the National ID – Family Book (Father & Student Page)
- A copy of Birth certificate.
Personal documents required from sons/daughters of UAE national mothers
- A recent color high resolution passport photo
- A clear copy of a valid passport, showing the unified number page.
Note: If a unified number is not recorded in the passport, it should be requested from the Immigration Department.
- A clear copy of a valid Emirates ID (front and back).
- A copy of birth certificate (mandatory – the date of issue of the birth certificate must match with the student’s date of birth).
- A clear copy of a valid passport of applicant’s mother
- A clear copy of a valid Emirates ID of applicant’s mother (front and back)
- The National ID – Family Book provided that the student’s mother has obtained UAE nationality prior to the student’s birth or in the same year of birth.
Personal documents required from non-UAE national students
- A recent color high resolution passport photo
- A clear copy of a valid passport including residency page.
- A clear copy of a valid Emirates ID (front and back).
Academic Documents (required from all applicants)
- Final grade reports of grade 10, 11, 12
- Ministry of Education Equivalency letter is required from all students who completed their secondary education in non- UAE governmental systems, i.e. American, British…
- Students who study British curriculum must submit official statement of results and official grade reports issued by the examination board, not from the school.
- EmSAT- English or equivalent.
