Problem or Opportunity Description
3D-printed concrete buildings are appealing to the construction industry, but only such buildings that are ‘green’ and well-designed are sustainable that can minimize the cost of energy and environmental pollution in the UAE’s desert climate. There is an industry need for thermal characterizations of 3D concrete-printed envelopes, and their certification.
Proposed Solution
This project focuses on the design and construction of a Hot-Box test chamber for the thermal study of 3D concrete-printed building envelopes, according to international standards and also to test and study the existing 3D printed walls in the UAE
