Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Attends Graduation of HCT’s Class of 2021 Distinction Students

His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Commissioner-General of Expo 2020 Dubai, and the inaugural Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), attended the graduation ceremony of 118 HCT students with Distinction, representing the 2021 “Future Makers” cohort.

The distinguished students contributed to the total number of 3,848 graduating students in the class of 2021.

The graduation ceremony, which took place at Expo 2020 Dubai, was attended by Dr. Ahmad Belhoul AlFalasi, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and SMEs and HCT Chancellor, Professor Abdullatif AlShamsi, HCT President & CEO, senior officials, HCT teaching and administrative staff and parents.

During the ceremony, Sheikh Nahayan stressed the Emiratis are the nation’s true asset and the drivers of the development process; affirming the UAE’s leaders highly value human development and empowering citizens through the provision of relevant skills and knowledge.

Sheikh Nahayan also expressed his happiness at celebrating this new batch of outstanding HCT graduates at Expo 2020 Dubai, underscoring the slogan, "Connecting Minds, Shaping the Future”. He noted that the graduates’ minds will build the country and better prepare the generation for the future.

Referring to the UAE’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, His Excellency said: “In this special year, we share achievements with the world and set out for tomorrow with hopes and aspirations, emphasizing that we are a country that turns challenges into achievements.”

Sheikh Nahayan said HCT would remain a pioneering educational establishment, highlighting its achievements in preparing trained and professional individuals, and supplying the labour market with qualified cadres, for 33 years. “We are proud of its graduates who produce, innovate, and demonstrate their capabilities in all vital areas and in various national accomplishments,” he added.

On behalf of the HCT’s Board of Trustees, H.E. Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi said he was delighted with Sheikh Nahayan’s attendance, as the inaugural Chancellor of HCT.

Dr. Al Falasi lauded the hosting of the ceremony at Expo 2020 Dubai, being a leading international event that embodies the leadership and determination of the UAE.

Dr. Al Falasi extended thanks and gratitude to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al NahyanHis Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, for all their efforts to maintain the security and stability of the nation, and for their continued and unlimited support to the HCT, which has enabled it to achieve its supreme mission of qualifying national cadres and empowering them to play effective roles in the future.

“We meet today as the world gathers in the UAE to take pride in our youth and the achievements of our country. With Expo 2020 held under the slogan "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future," we celebrate today the “Future Makers” batch of HCT graduates, stressing that human beings remain the foundation for work and achievement and the real bet for the country,” Dr. Al Falasi said.

Dr. Al Falasi announced the formal graduation of 118 male and female outstanding students from the class of 2021.

Professor Abdullatif AlShamsi extended his congratulations to the outstanding HCT students of the 2021 “Future Makers” batch, noting that that they are part of an exceptional batch of graduates; graduating at Expo 2020 and as the country celebrates its Golden Jubilee, which represents 50 years of leading achievements. He noted that HCT has prepared its graduates well for the future, and they are expected to demonstrate their distinction in the workforce, where they will be highly sought-after additions.

The graduating students were delighted at graduating in the presence of H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan. They also extended their thanks and gratitude to HCT for organizing the graduation ceremony at Expo 2020, ensuring it would be an unforgettable memory.

As part of the ceremony, the graduates took the oath of loyalty and allegiance to the UAE and its leadership. They gave their thanks to the wise leadership for the unlimited support to the sons and daughters of the nation, which has reinforced their academic excellence, resulting in them promising to work hard with devotion to give back to their country.
