RKWC Faculty member receives Emirates Appreciation Award for the Environment

HCT-RAK Women’s College faculty member, Azza Yousif Mohammad Al Awadi, received the prestigious Emirates Appreciation for the Environment Award at the recently announced  Zayed International Prize for the Environment.

The award was presented to Azza by HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.

The award was announced by the Zayed International Foundation for the Environment, and was part of the Prize's Media and Environmental Awareness category.

The Foundation recognizes those who contribute to sustainable development through best environmental practices, research and innovation, capacity building, education, and raising environmental awareness.

Azza initiated a programme at the College called “Earth’s Pal,” for her students with the aim of increasing their awareness of the importance of preserving the environment, looking after natural resources, and “thinking green". Azza was the only winner representing herself and not a company. “I am humbled to receive this award, and I would like to inspire our students so they can do it too,” she said.

Congratulations Azza from the whole of the RAK Colleges community.
