Higher Colleges of Technology Strengthen the Future of “Creative Economy” and Digital Storytelling at BRIDGE Summit 2025
The Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) showcased its outstanding participation at BRIDGE Summit 2025 in Abu Dhabi, the world’s premier event in the media and entertainment sector. The summit brought together thousands of media professionals, content creators, brands, leaders, and decision-makers on a single platform to explore the future of media and empower the next generation of media innovators. HCT students from the Applied Media and Education faculties presented more than 20 innovative projects that blended art and Emirati heritage with the latest AI, virtual, and augmented reality technologies.
HCT’s participation highlighted the impact of applied learning in equipping the creative economy with skilled young national talent. The student projects demonstrated an exceptional ability to transform technology into tools for documenting national identity, creating innovative brands, and developing modern educational and marketing solutions. The participation also reflected the colleges’ commitment to a learning environment that mirrors real-world professional settings, integrating creative thinking with technical skills. This was evident in the high level of engagement from experts, companies, and industry partners with the students, further demonstrating that these educational programs prepare a generation capable of competing and excelling in an evolving job market.
Throughout the three-day summit, the HCT stand at ADNEC witnessed significant interest in projects spanning six vital tracks for the future of media and education:
- AI Content & Innovation: Students presented innovative visual works that document Emirati heritage through a distinctive artistic approach, utilizing the latest AI algorithms. They also provided a detailed demonstration of the technical development process, highlighting their proficiency in leveraging these technologies to produce professional, creative outputs.
- Design, Branding & Packaging: A display of market-ready commercial products, including the "Farjan" project for jewelry and 3D-printed bags, the luxury perfume brand "Bainouna," as well as the "NEKO World" educational games project.
- Media Production: A screening of films addressing critical social themes through impactful storytelling. Featured films included "Dyslexia," "Tolerance," "Haraka," and "Stay Close".
- Immersive Experiences (VR/AR): Interactive exhibits allowed visitors to experience local stories in simulated environments. Projects included "Aisha Darya - Mother of the Sea" and "MEHSENA - A Story of Enlightenment".
- Digital Storytelling & Character Design: Character animations bringing local stories to life through digital media, featuring projects such as "Al-Bayt Al Oud" and "Karboosh".
- Digital Education & Interactive eBooks: Students presented next-gen resources designed to modernize early childhood education. Animated digital stories such as "The Injured Bird," "The UAE," and "What Did I Eat?" were showcased to engage younger generations.
The high quality of the showcased work confirms that young national talent has mastered advanced digital media tools to a global standard. For these students, technology is not just a technical skill, but a creative power. They are using these tools to modernize the media landscape and present the Emirati narrative to the world with a fresh, engaging vision.
The BRIDGE summit served as a vital platform for HCT students to network alongside key influencers, decision-makers, and media leaders, offering a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and explore global trends firsthand.
