HCT TO HOST VIRTUAL GRADUATION CEREMONIES FOR 5000+ GRADUATES

The HCT virtual graduation ceremonies for the 2019 and 2020 student cohorts will commence on November 17, 2020, and run throughout November.

The “HCT 4.0 generation” cohorts, consisting of 5,243 male and female graduates, are the products of the initiatives contained within the HCT 4.0 strategic plan. The strategic plan was launched since 2016/2017 with the aim of producing “Technical Leaders”, and “Graduate Companies”.

This year’s graduates will receive congratulatory certificates from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, in recognition for their efforts and keenness to successfully fulfill their program requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Abdullatif Al Shamsi, HCT President & CEO, extended his congratulations to the 2019 and 2020 cohorts, praising the receipt of congratulations from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, which is a privilege that motivates graduates to continually achieve excellence.

He said the “HCT 4.0 generation” will be able to successfully deal with future challenges and create their own employment opportunities, based on their 4th Industrial Revolution skills and competencies.

Dr Al Shamsi noted that some of the fresh graduates are entrepreneurs, who were able to develop their ideas into successful businesses through the HCT InnCuVation Spaces, which provide an incubation-like environment for students’ innovations. These spaces complement HCT’s announcement as the nation’s first approved university economic free zone in 2019, enabling it to graduate companies.

Dr. Al Shamsi mentioned that these two graduating cohorts reflect the transformation and development in HCT’s education journey of over a period of 30 years. During its history, the HCT awarded more than 92,000 credentials to its graduates, thus meeting the needs of the local labor market. “Today’s HCT graduates are equipped with future skills that enable them to deal with the changes of the job market with agility and efficiency, which has made them the number one choice in the labor market,” he said.

The virtual graduation ceremony for the Men’s colleges in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, to be held on November 17, will consist of 1,215 students. The ceremony for the Women’s colleges in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, to be held on November 19, will see 1,034 students graduating.

The ceremony for Dubai Men’s and Women’s colleges, to be held on November 22, will consist of 1,098 male and female students. The ceremony for the Sharjah Men’s and Women’s colleges, to be held on November 24, will feature 941 male and female students. On November 26, the ceremony for Ras Al Khaimah Men’s and Women’s colleges will consist of 531 male and female students. The final graduation ceremony for Fujairah Men’s and Women’s colleges will consist of 424 male and female students.

HCT is simultaneously awarding graduates with academic degrees and professional certificates, enabling them to excel in their professional lives, as technical leaders. International professional certificates are now awarded in 98% of HCT’s academic programs, as part of HCT’s strategic partnerships with over 20 renowned international awarding bodies.
