HCT Celebrates Graduation of 531 Applied Media & Education Students at Expo 2020
The HCT celebrated the graduation of 531 male and female students from the Applied Media and Education programs, during the graduation ceremonies from the 2021 "Future Makers" cohort, held at the Expo 2020 Dubai precinct.
The graduation ceremony was attended H.E. Jameela bint Salem Mesbeh AlMuhairi, Minister of State for Public Education, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Schools Establishment, Professor Abdullatif AlShamsi, HCT President & CEO, senior officials, teaching and administrative staff at HCT, and parents.
H.E. Jamila AlMuhairi congratulated the graduating students, wishing them every success and prosperity, urging them to continue their efforts to advance in their respective fields and expand their horizons to be future leader in their areas of specialized study. She invited the graduates to continue their path towards leadership and to use this success as a catalyst to start more giving and creativity to serve their country. This was highlighted this as the UAE's sustainable development, and preservation of its achievements, will be their future responsibilities.
The Minister of State stressed that knowledge plays a fundamental role in their lives, as it will be reflected in their professional career and is the key to excellence in the labor market. She noted that the knowledge journey does not stop upon the completion of a course of study, but takes different forms. She expressed her thanks to the HCT’s management and employees for providing the students with the best learning experience and scientific basis to be competitive when they enter the labor market.
In his speech on behalf of the HCT’s Board of Trustees, Professor Abdullatif AlShamsi was greatly pleased at the presence of H.E. Jameela Al Muhairi. He noted HCT was keen to host the graduation ceremony at Expo 2020 Dubai, the leading international event that embodies the will, determination and leadership of the UAE, particularly as it is returning to a post-Covid life, due to the nation’s leaders’ efforts.
Professor AlShamsi extended thanks and gratitude to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, for all their efforts to promote the security, safety and stability of the nation, and for their continued and unlimited support to the HCT, which has enabled it to achieve its lofty mission of preparing and qualifying national cadres and empowering them to play effective roles in the future.
Professor AlShamsi, on behalf of the HCT’s Board of Trustees, then announced the graduation of 531 Applied Media and Education male and female students. H.E. Jamila Al Muhairi, accompanied by Professor Abdullatif Al Shamsi, presented Graduation Certificates to the graduates and posed for a memorial photograph. These graduates comprise a fraction of the total number of 3,848 male and female graduates for the class of 2021. He congratulated the graduates, wishing them every success and progress in serving their country.
The graduating students showed their thanks and gratitude to HCT for organizing the graduation ceremony at Expo 2020, ensuring it would be an unforgettable memory. They also warmly thanked the faculty and staff who contributed to their success.
HCT graduate Rawda Khaled Al Ketbi, who graduated from the Applied Media program with Distinction and Honors, achieving a GPA of 3.5, said she was extremely proud upon her graduation at such a memorable occasion. She said she was now ready and well equipped for the labor market, noting she obtained a full-time job while in the third year of her Bachelor's program.
