H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Attends Ceremony for Students Graduating with Distinction from the Higher Colleges of Technology
His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs, attended a ceremony for students graduating with distinction from the Higher Colleges of Technology.
Themed Empowering Minds... Shaping Future, the 2024 cohort comprises 329 graduates who will meet marketplace demands set by Industry 4.0, AI adoption and the evolving global economy.
His Highness praised Higher Colleges of Technology’s role in equipping students with expertise, advancing the higher education ecosystem, and providing an educational pathway that addresses UAE labour market needs.
His Highness also congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to harness their capabilities to serve the community and contribute to the UAE’s sustainable development.
The ceremony was attended by H.E. Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports and Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology; Dr. Faisal Alayyan, HCT President & CEO; as well as dignitaries and senior officials, HCT teaching and administrative staff, and the graduates' parents and families.
H.E. Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi expressed pride in the graduates' efforts and accomplishments, highlighting that these achievements are the outcome of the wise leadership's guidance and their ongoing support for HCT programs, which are designed to advance education and equip graduates to make meaningful contributions to shaping the future and serving the nation.
His Excellency announced that, with the support of the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (Nafis), HCT successfully employed 86% of the 2,600 graduates from the 2022-2023 cohort, with the HCT-Abu Dhabi and Dubai campuses achieving the highest employment rates, surpassing 90%.
His Excellency also commended the outcomes of the HCT Apprenticeship Program, which offers vocational training for students in private sector institutions and has been integrated into 30 Bachelor's and Diploma programs, making up 25% of the educational curriculum.
