H.H. Sheikh Salem Al Qasimi Attends Graduation of 631 HCT Students in Sharjah for the 2023 “Today’s Leaders for Tomorrow” Cohort
His Highness Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Ruler’s Office, attended the graduation ceremony of 631 students from the Higher Colleges of Technology’s (HCT) Sharjah Campuses.
The 205 male & 426 female graduates obtained qualifications in Engineering Technology & Science, Health Sciences, Business, Computer Information Science, Applied Media, and Education.
The ceremony, for the 2023’s "Today's Leaders for Tomorrow" cohort, took place at the University City Hall and was also attended by Dr. Faisal Alayyan, HCT President & CEO; Dr. Khaled Alhammadi, Executive Director of HCT- Sharjah Campuses, as well as dignitaries and senior officials, HCT teaching & administrative staff, and graduates’ parents and families.
The celebration commenced with a video presentation entitled "Shaping the Future," illustrating how HCT prepares its graduates to emerge as future leaders in their specific fields. The presentation also emphasized HCT's dedication to cultivating the skills and knowledge required for its graduates to stand out as the preferred candidates in the job market.
In his address, given on behalf of the HCT's Board of Trustees, Dr. Faisal Alayyan emphasized that the primary focus and aspirations of the nation have always been on human capital, which is essential for driving progress and establishing a sustainable future. He highlighted the UAE's leadership’s vision, since the country's foundation, has empowered Emirati citizens to advance with confidence, determination, and an unwavering commitment to overcoming challenges and accomplishing remarkable feats.
Dr. Alayyan reiterated HCT's pride in graduating a new cohort of Emirati individuals every year, who are poised to become the leaders of today and contribute to the creation of a sustainable future.
During this momentous occasion, Dr. Alayyan expressed his utmost appreciation and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court; and His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for their unwavering support, which has been instrumental in ensuring HCT’s successful journey.
Dr. Alayyan emphasized HCT's dedication to constantly reviewing its role and processes to meet the nation’s demands. The ultimate goal is for HCT to solidify its position as a leader in applied education, achieve results aligned with national aspirations and to adapt to shifts in the labor market, he said.
In order to accomplish this, HCT has introduced its "Shaping the Future 2023-2028" strategy, built upon the twin principles of inclusivity and integration. This strategy empowers HCT to prepare future professionals with Applied Bachelor's and vocational diploma qualifications, while also fostering strategic collaborations with both public and private sectors. These endeavors are aimed at positioning HCT graduates as the preferred choice in the job market.
On behalf of the HCT’s Board of Trustees, Dr. Alayyan announced the graduation of the 631 male and female students and extended his heartfelt congratulations to them, conveying his best wishes for their future endeavors and their continued success.
During the graduates' acknowledgement speech, the graduates conveyed their appreciation to the leadership of the UAE for their unwavering trust and consistent support of the nation's citizens, which they believe will pave the way for their future achievements and excellence.
