H.H. Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Attends Graduation of 455 HCT-Dubai Students for 2023’s “Today’s Leaders for Tomorrow” Cohort
H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, attended the graduation ceremony of 455 male and female students from the Higher Colleges of Technology’s (HCT) Dubai Campuses, who obtained qualifications in Engineering Technology & Science, Health Sciences, Business, Computer Information Science, Applied Media, and Education.
The ceremony, for the 2023’s "Today's Leaders for Tomorrow" cohort, took place at the Grand Hyatt Dubai Hotel and was attended by H.E. Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources & Emiratisation and HCT Chancellor; Dr. Faisal Alayyan, HCT President & CEO; Dr. Ayoub Kazim, Executive Director of HCT- Dubai Campuses, as well as dignitaries and senior officials, HCT teaching & administrative staff, and graduates’ parents and families.
In his commencement address, Dr. Faisal Alayyan, representing the HCT's Board of Trustees, extending a warm welcome to H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, thanking him for his esteemed presence in attending the HCT-Dubai students’ graduation ceremony.
Dr. Alayyan emphasized that the UAE's leadership places a strong emphasis on "quality" as the key to global competitiveness. He highlighted the remarkable achievements of Emirati citizens across various fields, including ventures beyond our planet, into space. Dr. Alayyan also noted that as HCT celebrates the graduation of the "Today's Leaders for Tomorrow" cohort, the institution sees these graduates as shining examples of high-quality outcomes, who are poised to contribute to a sustainable future through their innovation and hard work.
During this momentous occasion, Dr. Alayyan expressed his utmost appreciation and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of the Presidential Court; and their brothers, Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, for their unwavering and unlimited support that has been instrumental in HCT's remarkable journey spanning over 35 years.
HCT’s President & CEO emphasized HCT's dedication to nurturing national talent at all levels has led to significant changes in its educational system. These strategic transformations have established a new model that underscores HCT's leadership in applied education that is aligned with national aspirations and is adapting to changes in the job market.
HCT’s new strategy embraces inclusivity and integration as core pillars, offering diverse educational pathways for students based on their abilities and interests, Dr. Alayyan said. These pathways encompass applied Bachelor's and vocational diploma programs, involving strong partnerships with business sectors that provide students with valuable training and employment prospects, positioning them as the preferred choice in the job market, he added.
Dr. Alayyan acknowledged that the inaugural graduation ceremony coincided with World Teachers' Day, regarding this as a significant occasion to extend heartfelt congratulations to all teachers and educators, expressing deep appreciation and gratitude for their tireless dedication and selfless contributions as the builders of minds and shapers of future generations.
On behalf of the HCT’s Board of Trustees, Dr. Alayyan announced the graduation of the 455 male and female students from the HCT-Dubai campuses, who are part of the 2023 “Today's Leaders for Tomorrow” cohort. Dr. Alayyan extended his heartfelt congratulations to the graduates and conveyed his best wishes for their future endeavors, hoping for their continued success, adding that they successfully completed their studies and obtained their academic degrees with merit.
During the graduates' acknowledgement speech, the graduates expressed their immense joy and pride on this special day, sharing their gratitude for the unwavering support and trust of the UAE leadership in its citizens. The celebration also featured a video presentation entitled " Shaping the Future”, which showcased how HCT equips its graduates to become the leaders of tomorrow in their respective fields. It also highlighted the HCT's commitment to nurturing its graduates with the skills and expertise needed to become the top choice in the job market.
A highlight for all those in attendance was when H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum presented the graduates with their certificates and posed with them for a commemorative group photo.
