Dubai Men’s College showcases student successes at GITEX 2013
The HCT Dubai Men's College Computer and Information Science Faculty celebrated a successful participation at GITEX Technology Week 2013, with a large number of visitors attending the HCT stand to view students' MGovernment competition projects.
Dr. Faouzi Bouslama, Chair of the CIS Faculty, said that the participation enabled the public to see the students' creative projects in the areas of programming and designing smart applications for use in the M Government Awards, launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
Two CIS students, Khalid Al Mudawi and Hasan Bastaki, presented a distinguishing project for smart phone applications that contribute to online service of public, under the supervision of a faculty member Sinan Gulam. The project was given the name "Renew my Passport", which is an application that enables the user to renew passports without having to attend the Department of Naturalization.
It is noteworthy that the CIS students work on the development of future networks and applications, which is in line with the UAE Government's desire to make it easier for citizens and residents to complete their daily transactions through the use of modern phones and smart communication devices, which save time and effort.
