Dr. Ahmad Al Falasi Highlights 48% Increase in HCT Graduates
H.E. Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports and Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), highlighted a 48% increase in the number of HCT graduates in the 2024–2025 academic year, with the total reaching 4,300 graduates, compared with 2,900 graduates in 2023–2024.
Dr. Al Falasi said the increase reflects the UAE’s continued commitment to providing inclusive and high-quality higher education opportunities, while preparing Emirati talent to meet the evolving needs of the labour market. He added that HCT’s role extends beyond applied education to supporting graduates in securing suitable employment opportunities through closer integration with relevant federal entities and national initiatives.
He also highlighted positive employment outcomes among HCT graduates, noting that the employment rate of 2023–2024 graduates reached 88% within 12 months of graduation, while the employment rate of 2024–2025 graduates stood at around 79% in less than 12 months. Dr. Al Falasi said HCT continues to strengthen its academic pathways and programme delivery to serve different student groups, including working students and those enrolled in distance learning, while maintaining the quality of educational outcomes and aligning academic programs with labour market priorities.
