DWC’s Career Team Organizes CV Clinic Initiative
The HCT-Dubai Women’s College’s (DWC) Career Advising team recently hosted a CV Clinic initiative, where eight employers and 18 industry HR experts offered DWC students, from all programmes and levels, vital job-seeking information.
The students were able to acquire valuable information on a range of topics including CVs and cover letter writing, interview skills, self-marketing tools and practices, and job search strategies.
The eight employers who participated in the initiative were primarily from the private sector, being the Al Futtaim Group, Dubai Financial Services Authority, Fly Dubai, Morgan Mckinley, Mashreq Bank, FEDEX, Standard Chartered and Dubai Airport Freezone.
More than 70 students, mostly from years three and four Computer Information Sciences, Applied Communications and Business programmes, attended the CV Clinic and engaged in a series of professional discussions with the industry HR experts, learning new skills on how to prepare a professional CV and discussing key marketing principles and concepts to better position themselves on the competitive UAE job market.
The CV Clinic is one of several initiatives offered by the DWC’s Career Advising team throughout the academic year that help to prepare DWC students for the work force, as well as to connect the students with HR industry experts and to increase their employability upon graduation in line with their academic programmes & majors.
