The Faculty of Business mission is to develop business graduates who are ready to assume business roles, using advanced technology, and applied learning. Graduates will be self-directed and entrepreneurial with skills in critical thinking, problem solving, and ethical decision-making. The Faculty’s vision is to become the leading applied business school in the UAE.

Program Description

The Bachelor of Finance program provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to work as competent finance professionals. Successful completion of the program will enable graduates to work in a variety of public and private sector organizations. The program places emphasis on both theoretical and applied aspects of finance practitioner work, with students exposed to contemporary finance tools and techniques.

The program offers two distinct concentrations

Investments and Islamic Finance:

For the Investments concentration, students take Ð FIN 4023, FIN 4033, FIN 4113, FIN 4123 and FIN 4133 or FIN 4173 elective courses.

For the Islamic Finance concentration, students take Ð FIN 4023, FIN 4053, FIN 4143, FIN 4153 and FIN 4163 elective courses.

Upon the successful completion of 117 credits, students may commence their Research Project (FIN 4203).

Students are eligible for a one year Work Experiential Learning experience during their study.

Program Goals

To develop graduates who possess the

  • Current knowledge and understanding of key areas of the Finance field, their interrelationship and application.
  • Ability to use the Finance tools, think critically, and conduct applied research.
  • Necessary key success skills in business.
  • In depth knowledge of the Finance field and its interrelationship and application across business environments.

Program Learning Outcomes

Degree Level

Students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate knowledge of functional business areas.
  2. Utilize tools to solve problems in Finance.
  3. Conduct research and evaluate arguments, concepts, and data in Finance.
  4. Demonstrate self-development and the ability to work independently and in teams.
  5. Apply ethical principles to decisions in global and local contexts, including issues related to sustainability and societal responsibility.
  6. Utilize effective oral and written Arabic and English communication in business.
  7. Apply business principles utilizing technology to various real-world situations.
