8th International Conference on Information Technology Trends (ITT 2022)

The 4th Industrial Revolution is evolving exponentially and disrupting almost every industry across the globe. These changes are signaling the transformation of entire systems of production, management and governance.  Following the huge success of the 7th Information Technology Trends Conference (ITT 2020), the Higher Colleges of Technology is pleased to host the 8th International Conference on Information Technology Trends (ITT 2022), under the theme of Industry 4.0: Technology Trends & Solutions.

Industry 4.0 describes the growing trend towards automation and data exchange in technology and processes within the manufacturing industry, including:

  • The internet of things
  • Cyber-physical systems (CPS)
  • Smart manufacture
  • Cloud computing
  • Cognitive computing
  • Artificial intelligence

The term “Industry 4.0” is interchangeable with 4th Industrial Revolution, and encompasses the transformational paradigm shift in the way society operates in a highly industrialized world. As a result of the automation of industry sectors, through rapidly evolving technologies such as AI, robotics, BlockChain, Internet of Things (IoT) and machine-to-machine communication (M2M), previously traditional human-oriented jobs are being replaced or made obsolete. These disruptions to industry, commerce and society in general require academicians, educators and innovators to adapt their own processes, including education delivery, to embrace these revolutionary technologies so as to enable future generations to operate successfully in the globalized economic environment.
